Honoring the history of the indigenous Yokuts, and collaborating directly with the local tribe, the Northern Valley Yokuts Park was born. The park represents a historical San Joaquin Valley landscape through modern recreational amenities that depict the Yokut tribe, including their home life, their culture, and how they play.
The picnic areas form a pattern similar to the feather headdresses worn during important ritual ceremonies. A bronze statue depicts the strength of women in the tribe and their contributions to social equality. This is a great park for kids to explore, learn, and play in a whole new and exciting way.
