PARKS
Parks with personality.
River Islands has plenty of parks because we wanted every resident to be within a short walking distance to outdoor recreation. We have large community parks for gatherings and sports events, and neighborhood parks for play dates with the kiddos and tossing frisbees with the furry kind. For those impromptu moments when running into neighbors, we have pocket parks in almost every neighborhood.
LINEAR TRAIL
A trail that stretches for miles.
Whether it’s walking, jogging or simply getting immersed into the sights and sounds of nature, you have easy access to one of the most beautiful trails along the San Joaquin River. You will find a quiet kind of harmony just outside your front door.
LAKES & WATER SPORTS
Reflections of blue are everywhere.
The community has 18 manmade lakes and miles of river, so you are never too far from blue water. Bring your kayak, paddleboard, canoe, or a fishing pole and your adventurous mind. A sunhat and a good book work, too.
WHAT'S NEARBY
Even more outdoor fun nearby.
Want more outdoor play? Take a day trip to some of the state’s most iconic landmarks, like Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, the Gold Country and Wine Country – all within a 30 minute to 2.5 hour drive. Known for its watersports, the Delta starts at River Islands, with over 1,600 miles of waterways flowing through islands and channels between Sacramento on the north and Stockton to the south.
There is no shortage of natural living things you will find at River Islands. Communities and nature thrive side by side, like lakes and green spaces and all kinds of wildlife. The best kind of living, is one that is connected to the world around it.
